When we plan the future, we think globally. This involves not only the individual alignment of our European foundries with trend-setting markets but also our investments in the latest technologies and new sites. Through our undertaking in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, we have entered a market that has been characterised for many years by above-average growth rates and exhibits enormous potential for the coming decades.
Shaoguan City was most suitable for our plans. The city – the political, economic and cultural centre of Guangdong situated in the north of the province – has evolved since the 1950s into a centre for the metal processing industry. Together with the Guangdong Shaoguan Foundry and Forging Group, the DIHAG Gießerei Holding GmbH has built a production facility here for machine-formed cast steel parts.

After a reconstruction and rebuilding phase, the joint-venture company went into production in 2005. SHD produces steel and stainless steel parts such as brake disks and semitrailer plates for HGVs, base plates for large machinery in open pit mining, corner castings for containers and axlehousings in medium- and large-lot production runs.
Our principles of quality and cus-tomer proximity are maintained on this site. Automatic forming plants are available for manufacturing. In high-performance ovens we at SHD melt unalloyed to high-alloy steel. We have installed extensive plant engineering for the heat treatment of cast parts. In addition, we can supply everything from premachined and finished cast parts to fully finished components in accordance with customer specifications. In the field of mechanical machining, we have conventional as well as the latest NC- and CNC-controlled machine tools at our disposal.
