Trains must be able to brake reliably. That‘s why cast brake shoes and blocks from our foundry play a major role in rail traffic safety. In addition to reliability in train operation, rolling stock availability is very important for our customers.

Our mission is to manufacture cast products to the highest standard with the shortest lead times and at a high level of delivery reliability. Based on this, and drawing on many years of experience in the field of casting, we have succeeded in achieving a leading market position for our main product, brake shoes and blocks. For years, renowned national and private railways throughout Europe have placed their trust in us. For many, we are their one and only supplier.

Every day, we work to improve on long-term costs, speed and quality for the benefit of our customers. We continue to optimise the geometry and materials for our castings, in close collaboration with our partners. Railway companies benefit in this way from longer service intervals for rolling stock and are even able to reduce stock. As we also offer logistics services, we can help to significantly reduce the administrative expenditure of our customers.

What gives us the edge? Together with the companies EM in Budapest, Hungary, and OZB in Bydgoszcz, Poland, the DIHAG Group has the capacity to produce over 60,000 tons of cast iron brake shoes and blocks. This creates a sense of trust with the customers and is reassuring for them. No other supplier has anything approaching this production base or such a wide range of customers in the particular rail segment.

Our staff assumes responsibility for quality and success, each in his/her own area of operation and decision-making. We can call on significant experience and flexibility due to our large number of skilled personnel and their combined years of service. We consider our in-house training programme for young people going into foundry jobs to be an investment in the future and one which serves to retain the acquired foundry expertise on site.
